Green Card for Spouse of U.S. Citizen

Published: Jun 17, 2008 By: Matthew L. Kolken Source: My Source

We just won a Green Card for our client, a Citizen of Australia, based on her marriage to her United States citizen spouse, but in order to get it we first had to defeat charges of deportation that were against her.

After being retained we were able to get venue moved from the Immigration Court in Atlanta, Georgia to the Court in Buffalo, New York.  We then obtained the expeditious approval of her husband's Green Card petition, and moved the Immigration Court to terminate her Deportation case.

After we prevented her from being deported we filed her Green Card application, and it took approximately five months for an interview to be scheduled for her Green Card.

We then appeared at the Green Card interview with her, which lasted less than five minutes, and her lawful permanent residency was granted.  In three years she will be able to apply for citizenship.
