IJ asylum victory; unaccompanied minor; PakistanPublished: Dec 11, 2008 Source: My Source
We just obtained an asylum victory before the Court in Buffalo, New York. The Court ruled that the Government failed to meet its burden of showing changed country conditions or that respondent can reasonably relocate within Pakistan, and that the government of Pakistan would be unable to prevent the respondent from taking harm at the hands of Tehrik-e-lihad members.
As a result, the Court found that our client has a well-founded fear that he would be persecuted if he were to be returned to Pakistan, based on past persecution, and that the government of Pakistan would be unable to prevent any future persecution.
Our client will be eligible to apply for his Green Card in one-year, and for United States citizenship five years from the date he receives his Green Card.
Thankfully, our client's nightmare is now over.
