L-1 Intracompany Transferee Executive Approved for Small Business

Published: Mar 2, 2009 Source: My Source

Our client is a Canadian citizen.  He owns a small family business operating in Canada and in the United States.  His presence is required at both locations.

To be eligible for L-1A status as an executive or manager, aperson must be engaged primarily in those duties.  We advised the client of this requirement sothat he could properly structure personnel assignments at each location.

The petition was presented under the North American FreeTrade Agreement at the U. S.border.  We accompanied him to theinspection in the event there were any problems to be resolved.  The petition was approved for a period of 3years.

The client was admitted to the U. S.as an L-1A Intracompany Transferee Executive with a Form I-94 good for multiple entries.  The process took less than 1hour.
