Conditions Removed from Green Card

Published: Oct 6, 2006 By: Robert D. Kolken Source: My Source
Robert D. Kolken, Esq. obtained approval of a Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence on behalf of a Jordanian citizen who entered the United States with a two year green card based upon a marriage to a United States citizen.  Unfortunately, marital difficulties arose shortly after he arrived in the United States and the couple separated, which raised a concern about the bona fides of the marriage.  The client obtained a divorce against his wife on the grounds of her cruelty, and we were able to convince the Department of Homeland Security that his intentions were honorable upon his petition for a waiver of the joint petition requirement.  Lawful permanent resident status was granted.
