State Senators May Vote Today on Amendments to Alabama Immigration LawPublished: May 8, 2012 9:00 am
Well, the times they are a-changin'.
Republicans in Alabama have discussed voting to amend their State immigration law. Two State Senators, Rep. Micky Hammon, R-Decatur, and Sen. Scott Beason, R-Gardendale, have introduced bills. A separate bill to amend the law has already passed the Alabama House of Representatives.
Alabama State Senators intend to leave portions of the Alabama law that mirror those in the Arizona law currently being decided by the Supreme Court untouched.
Alabama Senate President Pro Tempore Del Marsh believes there will be a vote either today or tomorrow at the latest.
I'll keep you posted.
